This set of 6 dessert plates were made in England ca. 1890 by Brown, Westhead and Moore, later to become Cauldon, and retailed exclusively by Shreve and Co, Boston. They are masterfully hand painted and embellished with polychrome enamel birds, flowers and further highlighted with raised paste gold. The cobalt blue borders contrast beautifully with the gilt decoration and vibrant enamels. The combination of workmanship and subject makes these perfect for display and of course, will enhance the beauty any table setting.
