This set of 12 dinner plates were made by Coalport in 1889 and retailed by Gilman Collamore, New York. Evoking the colors and style of Sevres porcelain, they have shaped rims with molded relief and trimmed in gold. Hand-painted roses and Forget-Me-Nots are embellished with contrasting blue, gold and green, making these elaborate but not overdone, perfect for a composed dessert, cheese and fruit course and dinners. The decorative element also lends itself to be used for display. The condition is amazing for being over 120 years old! Excellent condition, wear consistent with age and use.
