This dresser set is made by two masterful companies to create an exquisite 7 piece set featuring vibrant turquoise enamels with hand blown crystal perfumes, 2 accessory boxes, a hand mirror, brush and the showstopper, a large round powder box. The sterling silver guilloche enamelled pieces are true works of art unto themselves and the crystal pieces are copper wheel engraved with an elegant floral motif attributed to either Webb or Hawkes. The condition is excellent commensurate with age and no visible defects at all. The lid of the powder jar is signed by Black, Starr and Frost one of the longest maker and retailer of silver items, founded in 1810. Made in America ca. 1920's

This complete service for 12 - 36 pieces in all, features 2 layers of European large scale gold wash vermeil silver flatware nestled in the original frames and leather box, lined in velvet. The carved mother of pearl handles are topped with elaborate silver ferrules creating true works of art. Even the backs of the pieces are elaborately decorated as you can see in the detailed pictures and there are French hallmarks on each, some with 3. It is very rare to find a dessert service that includes the spoons, making this one extra special.

One of the most amazing sets in my inventory is this custom order service for 12 made by J. E. Caldwell, Philadelphia. It combines sterling silver with gold vermeil and hand blown crystal by Sinclaire dating to 1895-1897 and the set consists of 12 service plates, 12 dessert bowls with engraved Sinclaire inserts, 2 footed tazzas/compotes, 6 smaller Sinclaire crystal engraved condiment bowls and a salt and pepper shaker. Each piece is dated and monogrammed "WL" from "JL" with consecutive dates as it seems that this was gifted at Christmas time over a period of years.The silver weighs +/- 339 troy ounces alone and the detail and workmanship plus rarity, quantitity and condition makes this an extraordinary museum quality find! This is a classic, Art Deco Period and style martini shaker with clean lines, embellished with only a simple diamond shaped monogram. A wonderful addition to a collection and even better, filled with your favorite drink. The condition is excellent and the strainer makes mixing a breeze!

This set of 12 Minton service plates is a rare example of Minton's sterling silver overlay. Most silver overlay was made by other porcelain manufacturers and these were surely a custom order. The thick, heavy and profuse silver work, extremely detailed and hand engraved, decorates the clean white blank creating a beautiful contrast. The swirling Art Nouveau pattern defines the elegant frame of the central monogram of "MEJ" and these were retailed by the renowned retailer, Higgins & Seiter, NY, circa 1905.
The silver is so thick, each plate weighs almost 1 1/2 lbs.
