Hand Painted 19th C. Sevres-Style Compotes with Teal Ribbons and Floral Decoration

Hand Painted 19th C. Sevres-Style Compotes with Teal Ribbons and Floral Decoration

This is an early English set, marked only by the pattern numbers, attributed to Minton. The unusual teal green palette becomes the center of attention. The thick enamel ribbons surround the borders, filled with hand painted flowers and gold highlights. Detailed tiny pink circles fill in the rest of the decoration on these exquisite compotes, 2 tall and 2 low. The tall compotes are 4 1/2" tall while the low measure 2 1/2". An exquisite English example of a Sevres documented pattern, this set exemplifies the attention to detail and fine workmanship of the French taste and style. ca. 1860
